Yesterday afternoon the grey, damp skies did not deter Copthorne villagers from calling into the Copthorne Sports and Community Association’s Sports Show Case. We just stayed indoors chatting and drinking tea – the perfect way to spend a wet afternoon!
Grant Worrall headed up the Cricket section, giving information for the fixtures this season and gaining new interested members. The Copthorne Cricket Club’s first fixture is away at Edenbridge on May 5th at 2pm, followed by away at East Grinstead on 12th May. Saturday 19th May is the first home match against Ardingly at 2pm. Spectators are most welcome …. Bring your own chairs and rugs.
The Ladies Stoolball team brought along bats and ball but it was too wet to play. Their first match is Wednesday 9th May away at Maresfield. More details are on their website http://www.copthornestoolball.co.uk/
